Invitations & accomodation

With 175 days to go, the majority of our invitations have been sent. I say the majority as there are still some evening invites for friends etc to go out over the next few coming weeks, but it was important for us to let family and people know early, particularly ones who have to travel.

We've had lots of nice comments about our invites, and even other bride-to-be's in work have used the same place (www.123print.co.uk) to order their wedding stationery! I do love them as they are quite classic and they have a touch of purple in them! They were incredibly reasonable in terms of price as well which helped! 123print don't just do wedding invites, they do pretty much everything! So if you're in need of some excellent quality stationery that's easy on the purse strings, then do take a look! Some of their designs are brilliant. The only downside is thast you have to be quite creative (me) and computer savvy (Sean) to adapt the invites the way you want them! It can be quite time consuming, but we felt that the result was well worth it!

Anyway, now that the invites have gone out the RSVP's are dribbling in, slowly but surely! We have been really touched by the sentiments that have gone into some of them! We've had some cross stitched ones and ones with some beautiful messages in. So thank you all.

Since sending out the invites, people have been asking more about accomodation. We have put links on this blog (right hand side) to places to stay but I will explain a bit more. Basically, we live in Thrapston which is about 15 minutes or 6 miles away from Barnwell Village Hall (where the reception is). In thrapston there are a choice of three hotels to choose from:

1. The travelodge - Located at the top of the town just off junction 13 on A14. It is apparently going cheap at the moment, something like £25 a night so could be worth getting in quick!

2. The Bridge Hotel - A more up market hotel with various prices - most expensive double room is £105 but cheapest is £65. You can get mixture of B&B and dinner there too. Take a look at their website.

3. The Woolpack hotel - Chalets are at the back of the pub and prices are £49.95 per chalet per night. They are self-contained and ensuite.

4. The Poplars B&B - Unfortunately both rooms are booked and taken for the wedding weekend as my parents are using it!

If you travel from Thrapston you will either have to drive or taxi it. According to taxifare.co.uk a taxi will be £8.95 from Thrapston to Barnwell but I will ring up nearer the time to get more accurate quotes. I shouldn't have thought it'd be anymore than £12 though.

Alternative accomodation nearer to the village hall consist of:
1. The Talbot hotel - Based in Oundle, 5 minute drive from Barnwell. unsure of prices as website says it won't be publishing them until spring 2012. Helpful much?

2. The Ilford lodge hotel - Is based in a farm on the main road which Barnwell is situated on, although the bitch is it's on the opposite side of the road! Not entirely sure how you'd cross it so you may have to drive. Not many rooms but reasonably priced.

3. The Barnwell B&B - This is the only accomodation source which is in the actual village where the reception is taking place, although there will be about 10/15 minute walk. There is no website link as of yet as it's still in the process of being built! Hopefully brochures and a website will be up in Decemeber, however I know that there will be 9 twin/double rooms and 1 single room. It will be £40 per person per night but a full breakfast is included and the rooms are all ensuite with tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. The bride and groom will be staying here with some members of the bridal party, so not sure of how many rooms will be availible but if you would like any more information about this place, then email me or fbook and I can have a chat.

So there you go, a bit more information,so get RSVP's in and let me know if you need anymore information!

Lots of love,
The future Mrs Bass xx
